Relevant catchment area on the individual slope versus avalanche danger level dependent assessment radius
Transfering a regional hazard level to a local problem is often criticized, e.g. previous decision-making strategies use catchment areas depending on danger levels. But the relevant catchment area in situ primarily depends on the precise terrain and tends to depend on the prevailing avalanche problem. For that, we suggest to consider relevant catchment areas dependending on avalanche problems during analytical based risk-assessments and to employ new terms for a conceptual differentiation.
